Job Description:\nScholastic is Hiring!\nPosition: Warehouse Associate - part-time, seasonal\nSchedule: 2nd shift (Weekdays Only)\nHourly Rate: $18.50 + $1.50\nBenefits Included: 401(k) Retirement Plan w/Company Match. 50% Discount on all Company Merchandise\nEach year Scholastic Book Fairs, in partnership with schools across the country, hosts more than 100,000 book fair events that give more tha\n...\nn 35 million students and their families access to thousands of affordable and educational products, helping foster a lifelong love of reading.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\n\u2022 Assist in the production of book fairs, by packing metal cases, boxes, and displays with book and non-book product, according to corporate process and procedure and meeting productivity and quality standards.\n\u2022 Demonstrate proficiency in packing all components and sub-components for all cases, boxes, and displays.\n\u2022 Consistently meet minimum required production, accuracy or quality standards for the work performed.\n\u2022 Ensure condition of all outbound cases, boxes, and displays are clean, safe, and in good condition.\n\u2022 Assist in the processing of returned book fairs, by unpacking metal cases, boxes, and displays with book and non-book product, according to corporate process and procedure and meeting productivity and quality standards.\n\u2022 Monitor inventory levels on applicable component product lines to ensure book fairs can be properly packed.\n\u2022 Learn and demonstrate basic scanner proficiency, i.e. item inquiries and requesting replenishment of Pick locations.\n\u2022 Assist in the picking and packing of customer reorders\n\u2022 Ensure that your work area is neat, clean, safe, and organized at all times.\n\u2022 Individually, and in partnership with other co-workers, perform seasonal inventory production-line resets.\n\u2022 Learn and demonstrate proficiency in all Fair Finishing and Assembly functions, including the Quality Assurance scanning functions.\n\u2022 Participate and assist in Physical Inventory functions, including the counting of inventory.Participate and assist in conducting Customer Appreciation Warehouse Sale Events.\n\u2022 Responsible for the careful handling of all merchandise at all times.\n\u2022 Ensure that all warehouse equipment and tools are properly utilized to increase productivity, efficiency, and safety; report any unsafe conditions, damaged equipment or injury (to self or co-worker) to your supervisor or manager immediately.\n\u2022 Utilize proper techniques for lifting, packing, and handling heavy objects, climbing ladders and pushing/pulling display cases.\n\u2022 Accurately and timely complete Labor Data Collection Cards to according to company standards.\n\u2022 May operate motorized pallet jacks upon successful completion of the SBF power equipment training program.\n\u2022 Maintain attendance and punctuality as required by assigned work schedule and within company standards.\n\u2022 Maintain a courteous and positive relationship with all co-workers and customers.\n\u2022 Drug and alcohol free policy compliance.\n\u2022 Other duties as assigned.\nQualifications\nQUALIFICATIONS\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
