Aurora Mental Health & Recovery (AMHR) is seeking an Addiction Technician or Specialist to provide direct clinical care to clients in our Detox Center. This role involves a range of essential duties, including conducting intakes and discharges, maintaining clinical documentation, providing counseling and case management, monitoring vital signs and withdrawal symptoms, and coordinating resources an\n...\nd transport for clients. You will also engage in risk assessments and collaborate with community partners such as hospitals and law enforcement. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills in substance use counseling and client care, demonstrate excellent teamwork and independence, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Our Detox Center provides 24/7 care to individuals experiencing acute intoxication or withdrawal, monitoring clients' treatment progress in a 30-bed facility offering ASAM 3.2 (Social Model Detox) care.\nSalary for this role\nStarting wage is based on experience, credentialing, and internal equity. Paid bi-weekly.\n\u2022 High School Degree with CAT or Bachelor's Degree: $22.04 \u2013 $33.07 per hour\n\u2022 Bachelor's Degree with CAS: $24.25 \u2013 $36.36 per hour\nAdditional Compensation Opportunity: Eligible staff who step in as Acting Shift Coordinator may earn an additional $45\u2013$50 per 10-hour shift (depending on role and certification) on top of their regular pay.\nAvailable Shifts. This position is fully on-site working 4 - 10 hour shifts.\n\u2022 Overnight, Wednesday - Saturday 9:00 pm - 7:00 am\nShift Differential Pay. The Swing shift differential is paid from 3 pm to 11 pm; and the Overnight shift differential is paid from 11 pm - 7 am\n\u2022 Swing Weekday (Mon-Thurs): $1.25/hour\n\u2022 Swing Weekend (Fri, Sat, Sun): $1.75/hour\n\u2022 Overnight Weekday (Monday - Thursday): $2.50/hour\n\u2022 Overnight Weekend (Friday, Saturday & Sunday): $3.50/hour\nBilingual Language Differential Pay. *rate depends on language requirements for the position and the candidate's fluency.\n\u2022 Employees will receive scheduled earnings on a bi-weekly basis, equivalent to 5% of their regular base rate (hourly or salaried), with a maximum amount of $3,000.00 per calendar year. The annual maximum amount will be prorated based on full-time equivalency (FTE).\nEssential Functions:\n\u2022 Interact with a client population that is actively intoxicated and/or experiencing symptoms of withdrawal.\n\u2022 Provide guidance, safety, stability, and direction to clients.\n\u2022 Identify emergency signals and situations and reacts appropriately.\n\u2022 Perform accurate, legal, timely and ethical documentation at all times, including admissions and discharges, inventories and screening of clients personal belongings, and charting of all significant interactions with each client.\n\u2022 Monitor and document client vital signs, physical condition and behavior as needed. Enters data using Electronic Health.\n\u2022 Record and Microsoft office product software.\n\u2022 Monitor/observe Urinalysis (UA) or Breath Alcohol (BA) tests as needed and documents appropriately.\n\u2022 Monitor the facility to insure it is maintained in a neat and orderly manner and that all outside doors remain secured.\n\u2022 Dispose of biohazard waste according to OSHA standards.\n\u2022 Refer client to supportive services to supplement treatment and counseling when needed.\n\u2022 May assist in transporting admitted clients to hospitals, aftercare, or other approved services as directed by the Shift Supervisor.\n\u2022 Staff member will complete needed care coordination tasks for their assigned role.\nRequirements:\n\u2022 Current CPR/First Aid Certification or ability to obtain within six months of hire.\n\u2022 Preferred: Qualified Medication Administration Person (QMAP).\n\u2022 Preferred: Bilingual in Spanish and English.\n\u2022 Preferred: Valid Colorado Driver's License with a driving record that meets organization's requirements.\n\u2022 Technician Requirements:\n\u2022 High School diploma with Certified Addiction Technician (CAT) actively registered with Colorado Department of Regulatory Affairs (DORA) or Bachelors\u2019 degree with plan to obtain CAT credential within 18 months from hire date.\n\u2022 Entry level position - zero to six months experience.\n\u2022 Specialist Requirements:\n\u2022 CAS (Certified Addiction Specialist) actively registered with Colorado Department of Regulatory Affairs (DORA) is required.\n\u2022 Six months' work experience in behavioral health or equivalent combination of education and experience.\nRequired Vaccination and TB Test.\nAt AMHR the health and safety of our clients and staff are our top priorities. Proof of both the flu shot and negative TB test must be provided on your first day of employment.
