With operations in New York, South Carolina, and Canada, our fundamental belief has been to provide unparalleled service to all while maintaining our values of honesty and integrity both on land and\n...\nsea.\nEssential Duties And Responsibilities\n• Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, backhoes, loaders, and rollers.\n• Perform site preparation tasks including grading, trenching, and material movement.\n• Conduct pre- and post-operation inspections and report any mechanical issues.\n• Follow site plans, grade stakes, and supervisor instructions to complete tasks accurately.\n• Maintain equipment cleanliness and assist with minor maintenance as needed.\n• Work closely with laborers, foremen, and other operators to ensure project efficiency.\n• Adhere to all safety regulations, traffic control procedures, and company policies.\n• Assist with loading/unloading materials and other site duties when not operating equipment.\n• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding job progress and safety concerns.\nRequired Qualifications\n• High school diploma or equivalent\n• Minimum of 2–3 years of experience operating heavy equipment in a construction setting\n• Proficient in the safe operation of multiple types of heavy machinery\n• Knowledge of construction site safety practices and procedures\n• Ability to read and interpret site plans and grade stakes\n• Valid driver’s license required\nPreferred Qualifications\n• OSHA 10 or 30 certification\n• CDL Class A or B license\n• NCCER or other recognized equipment operator certification\n• Experience with GPS or laser-guided equipment systems\nPhysical Requirements\n• Ability to sit, stand, and operate equipment for extended periods\n• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds\n• Frequent climbing, bending, and exposure to outdoor elements\n• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required\nWork Environment\n• Outdoor construction sites with exposure to weather, dust, and noise\n• Fast-paced, team-oriented environment\n• May require early morning, evening, or weekend shifts depending on project needs\nAdditional Requirements\n• Must be authorized to work in the United States\n• Background check and drug screen required\n• Willingness to travel to various job sites as needed\nThe pay range for this role is $30-$35\nWhat We Offer\n• Paid Time Off\n• Comprehensive Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance\n• Additional Coverage Through AFLAC\n• Company Paid Holidays\n• 401(k) with an 8% Match\n• Short Term, Long Term Disability\n• Group Life Insurance\n• Employee Assistance Fund\n• Emergency Service Worker Bonus\n• Employee Referral Bonus\n• 15% Carhart Discount for all employees – NY only\nEqual Opportunity Employer Statement\nCarver Companies is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
